Details About Apnea Dental Appliances
What the heck is an apnea dental appliance, you ask? Well, not only do they protect your teeth from grinding them at night, but they can also help you with sleep apnea. Yes, really!
A sleep appliance is an upper guard and a lower guard with an adjustment mechanism connecting them, aligning your jaw while you sleep. Keeping the lower jaw forward allows the airway in your throat to stay unobstructed. A clear airway is the surest way to keep loud snoring and sleep apnea at bay. Read that last bit again, it rhymed!

How We Do It
At your exam, you’ll work directly with our owner, Dr. Ruby, as she checks your teeth for any issues.
If we find that you would be a good candidate for an apnea dental appliance, we will perform a sleep study, then we’ll have you fitted for one by taking an impression of your teeth.
You will need to come in for another session so that we can try out your new apnea dental appliance and adjust it to make sure it’s comfortable enough for you to sleep in.
