Periodontal Disease is So Jurassic
Though the word “periodontal” may sound like it’s the name of a newly discovered dinosaur fossil, it actually means “around the teeth” and is also referred to as gum disease. This type of disease affects the gums and bones of the jaw, leading to receding gums, bone loss, and inflammation all over the mouth. Because Periodontal disease definitely doesn’t sound like a good time, make sure you see a specialist!

How We Do It
Come see Dr. Ruby, and let’s talk about your oral history and how we can help you with a periodontal treatment in Pooler.
We administer a local anesthetic before beginning a 90-minute deep clean. This can sometimes be divided into 2 separate appointments.
After the deep cleaning has been completed, a 8 to 12 week follow up appointment is necessary to see how your gums responded to the treatment.
